Porirua Harbour Trust

The Porirua Harbour Trust is an independent organisation made up of dedicated community members that advocates for the wellbeing of Te Awarua o Porirua. It envisions a harbour and catchment that is healthy, resilient, and thriving - where ecosystems are protected or restored, people can safely use and enjoy the harbour, kai moana is safe to harvest, and economic activity is sustained without compromising future needs. To this end, it advocates for the adoption of a long-term perspective in decision making, fosters public awareness of the harbour’s values, coordinates community input and action, and collaborates with councils, iwi and community groups.
